Representatives of the WADWAD project participated in the 16th International Wadden Sea Symposium from October 28 to 30, 2025 in Groningen. This event showcased state-of-the-art research on the Wadden Sea region and prepared input for the Trilateral Governmental Conference. From the WADWAD team Jelle Bulens presented his research on future sediment scenarios for the Wadden Sea coasts. As part of Work Package 3, Monzer Hossain Sarker presented his research on socio-ecological scenario assessments. Wienke Harms created an overview poster for the entire WADWAD project entitled ‘A Trilateral Action Plan for Ecosystem-Based Management in the Wadden Sea‘ which was presented by Annika Traue. In addition to the scientific program, we, the symposium participants, visited projects from the Ems-Dollart 2050 program, including the double dike between Delfzijl and Eemshaven and the Marconi project in Delfzijl. The symposium proved to be very interesting: in addition to presenting WADWAD research results, it offered valuable opportunities for professional exchange and networking.
